“You’re right, but…”

I used to think this was something that required more persuasion; I think I was wrong. Once they say “you’re right”, of the WIRMA (weak, ignorant, retarded, malicious, ***hole), they concede they are weak, and may also be asserting you also are weak, and that either:

  • The matter isn’t important enough to be worth fighting over
  • You have no chance of prevailing via a reasoned approach (therefore they would direct you to the “inside game”)

so the discussion is complete, and you know the other person isn’t going to take meaningful action, so it’s back on you to decide how you want to proceed.
